About Dr. Tarrier
|
Dr. Mike Tarrier is a veterinarian with over 32 years of experience. He graduated from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1976. After 3 years of private practice in several states he was accepted into a large animal residency at the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine. He spent 2 years in the residency working to upgrade his knowledge of medicine, surgery, nutrition, reproduction, etc. He was then hired as faculty in the position of assistant professor, & remained in that position for 8 years. During that time he obtained board certification in theriogenology (reproduction--diplomate American College of Theriogenology). After 8 years Dr. Tarrier decided to go back to private practice & opened what is now Southern Dairy Consulting in 1989. He has additional training in nutrition, milking equipment testing & mastitis management, along with a special interest in data analysis. While diagnosing & treating sick animals is an important part of the business, increasing production & prevention of problems is the main focus of this business, as this will return more profit to the producer. |
